So here we are on day six of Dragon week, and we hope that you have enjoyed it so far. Yesterday we had “The Hungry Dragon” on youtube. It was a story that my friend Jane Edwards wrote for her great-great-nephews. The link to the story is further down the page.

It is a brilliant story about three kings who live in a castle by the sea. They have to deal with a very greedy and hungry dragon. They have to used their heads instead of their swords and weapons. Because sometimes thoughts can lead us to the right thing to do.
Here is their castle. Right there by the sea. Can you imagine what it would be like to live in such a place. What kind of furniture would you have? Would you have tapestries on the walls? Could you draw the inside of your castle? Would it be dragon proof?

King Finley has a highland cow as his favourite animal. He rides it through the kingdom. What kind of an animal would you have if you had a castle? Would it be a big one or a small one? Here is an image of what King Finley’s beast would look like.

Our three kings have managed to beat back the dragon. Would you have done the same or could you come up with some other way of dealing with a dragon? Perhaps you could write a story or a poem to show us what you would do if you faced a scaly wyrm.
