Dragon Party Games

What dragon party would be complete without some dragon games? Here is a resource page that will get you thinking about what you can do. I am sure that you could come up with your own ideas based on some of these. Why not share them by sending them to thestoryshedblog@gmail.com

It’s the third day of Dragon week

Hi again. So the third day is here, and we hope that you have enjoyed the stories and hints for costume making so far. As you know dragons can be big or small, and for this post I thought I would show you something very very big. Imagine this big fella turning up in your street!

If you were to design a big old dragon like this one, what would it look like? Could you draw one? What colour would it be? What would the scales on it be like? Would it have whiskers?

Dragon Drawings

A good friend of mine is now hopefully going to be drawing a dragon a day during dragon week: This is the dragon for day one: Thank you Lindsay Oliver for your wonderful work on this, and I am looking forward to seeing more:

Can you imagine where this dragon lives? What it eats? What it likes? Can you come up with a story for this green fella? You can always send it to thestoryshedblog@gmail.com

Dragon’s Blood

In days of ancient times gone by

The dragons wings would beat and fly

Above the city drifting high

With dragons roar and dragons cry

The people down below would think

Of lives lived in a dragons blink

They lived for years and years

With dragon laughs and dragon snears

Til came a traveller with magic spears

Who had no worries or dragon fears

He rode his horse into the town

Looking up and never down

Preparing for the mighty fight

A warrior, a noble knight

Who seeing dragon he did charge

Although the creature was so large

Forward did he drive his steed

To make the dragon finally bleed

He took his spear and threw it quick

Saw it in the hard scales stick

A lucky shot and no mistake

The dying dragons furious shake

The beast was vanquished gone for good

He gathered up the dragons blood

The dragon now will never fly

Or give another dragon cry

And one day there will be a doubt

Of if there were dragons ere about

But there will always be some tales

From Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales

Of dragons foul and dragons good

Of dragons scales and dragons blood

And in those stories they survive

The dragons kept in dreams alive.

Don’t forget this is not to be taken too seriously, and you should hopefully have some fun with it. If you like you can send stuff to thestoryshedblog@gmail.com

Welcome to Dragon Week

It has finally arrived…though somewhat delayed. Yes today is the start of Dragon week. We will be having dragon stories all this week on youtube: https://studio.youtube.com/channel/UCf0rErNnWS3dXAFyo1CWxCQ

Why not tune in and listen to the wonderful tales we have of the creatures with scales 🙂

We are hoping to have more information about how you can make your own dragon costume. Hopefully you will get a chance to make something out of stuff that you have around the house. Remember you can not get this wrong, and it would be great to see whatever you create.

Here we are working on a couple of different designs with what we can find. Cardboard boxes, paper plates, bin bags…all turned into your favourite flying legendary creatures.

Share your ideas with us at thestoryshedblog@gmail.com

Dragon Claws

So we have tips and hints for wings, tails, masks for your dragon. Now here is something to help you make claws at least for your hands. This is really just to give you and idea of what you can possibly do, and I am sure that you will be able to come up with something easier. Remember to costume is not going to last forever, and when you have finished it is good to get it on video or a photograph 🙂

I still have to find something for feet claws if you want to make the thing really complete. If you have any ideas on that one then let me know through thestoryshedblog@gmail.com. Happy making.
