Frightening Fitness

So I am afraid I don’t do a lot of exercise which is not good. We all need to do a bit more of that I guess. One of the things that I do love though is stories. This app which is free is an example of what can be done with story. I will say though that if a younger person is going to be using it, then having an adult/parent look first might be good. Just to gauge if it is age appropriate:

Halloween Vids

So it is easier now to make your own videos. If you can get hold of a phone or a webcam, it is possible to create something and enjoy doing it as well. I have found a couple of halloween based videos that some young folks have made. So why not give it a shot eh? 🙂

So let your imagination go. Write a story, turn it into a script and get out there and with friends or family make it 🙂 Then you can even share it with us thestoryshedblog@gmail.com

Sugary Spiders

Incy wincy spider climbing up the spout. Some people are very frightened by our eight legged friends. I have become a lot more used to them, as I am now normally the person who gets a glass and card. I take them gently up the garden path, and rehome them in a bush. But the spiders in this next article are not scary in the least. In fact they look quite delicious:

Fake Blood for Fake Fangs

So you are going to need some gore for your Halloween party. I am going to put up one or two resources so you can get some squidgy fun going on there. And how can you have a vampire without some fake blood. I have made some of this in the past for films, and here is a recipe for the making of it:

I found this video as well, so hopefully you will be able to find a way of making some of the red stuff for your fake vampire.

Which Witch

(Good witches are also available)

I kindly got the permission of Adele Croxall, who is the artist who painted that lovely witch image. For some reason it made me think of darker witches, but it could well be that the witch here is not a nasty one. I did however feel inspired to write the following poem. So thank you Adele 🙂

She wakes up in the morning and sits upon her broom

For her there is a difference to the saying just use zoom

She flies around the neighbourhood cackling as she goes

With her witchy hat, and black cat, and witchy witchy clothes

Be careful she don’t see you for she may not be so kind

Watch over your shoulder least she comes right up behind

Cause though the spirits rising are here for halloween

If you get her angry than the witchy witch is mean

She’ll turn you into something strange that leaps or crawls or hops

Making the milk curdle and cursing all your crops

So be careful you don’t cross her as it never works out well

And if you see her coming, just turn and run and yell.

Flying Frankenstein

Now that we have mentioned the most famous big green fella (other than the hulk) here is another idea for having him around. Who would have thought that a lumbering giant like that could inspire something like a kite? Well here is the method for going about that one.

I think you can probably use this technique for any of your other horror based characters. I wonder what the mummy would think?

Freaky Frankenstein’s Monster

I know that the stuff I put on here is for kids (or adults that are still kids at heart. This next link and resource is one that I would actually really like to have a go at. It is of course the famous Frankenstein’s Monster. I will have to look at the actual outfit and resize it for my rather large head. All being well I can be lumbering around our back garden in no time at all…..

Haunted Cutlery

How could we go without some magic for Halloween…I mean apart from being spooky it is also meant to be very mysterrrrious! So I found this wonderful trick for you to try out on your friends and family. Now remember you are going to have to do some practice to get it right. And also remember a magician never reveals their secret to their audience….because it spoils the whole thing. Thank you to the magician here who made the video:
