Frozen Fingers

This was something that I wouldn’t have thought of in a million years. Last year at Halloween we put some flour in a rubber glove, and some sand as well. It gives a strange feeling if you touch someone with it if they have there eyes closed. But this following notion was suggested by the very clever Vikki Cavanagh. I managed to find a good description of the process for making…..the frozen hand of doom…well a frozen hand if you don’t want all the drama:

Fangs for the memory

If you are thinking of being a vampire this Halloween then there is going to be one thing that you will need. A cape, and lovely pendant to keep it in place is of course good. Even a fancy staff with a skull on top will set off your costume well. But what kind of vampire will you be without a sharp set of gnashers? So here are a few ways of getting that toothy smile in place. Warning: some are harder to do than others.

Terrible Treat Containers

So this year you may or may not be able to go out trick or treating. I think that one of the best things to do is to have a sweetie treasure hunt in your house. Hide them here and there. Maybe even make a map of your house, and use it to find the treats:

You could even make some of these containers to put them in for later on. Don’t eat them all at once:https://www.itsalwaysautumn.com/20-cute-easy-diy-halloween-treat-bags-and-boxes.html#:~:text=%2020%20cute%20%26%20easy%20DIY%20Halloween%20treat,Paper%20ghost%20favor%20bags%20from%20Craft-O-Maniac%3A%20More%20

Get your garlic

Don’t forget if you are going out at Halloween to have some garlic at hand, just in case you run into any actual vampires. It is a good idea to carry it with you, or if you don’t feel like it take a garlic baguette with you instead. It is surely going to work the same….right? Here is a picture by the talented Lindsay Oliver, so you know what you are looking for:

Frightening Finger Fun

There might not be any theatres open at the moment, but you could always make up your own show with some of these finger puppets. Have some fun cutting them out and colouring them in. Maybe you could write yourself a play to perform with them and record it on camera.

Terrifying tales

So we haven’t had any story prompts for a little while on the site. I am going to put up some images here, to see if you can weave them together to make a Halloween story out of them. The main thing as ever is to have some fun with it:

So a few images for you to play around with. It can be a poem or a story, or even a play. If you do want to share it then send it to thestoryshedblog@gmail.com
